Full Moon in Leo with Lunar Eclipse, January 20, 2019

Full Moon in Leo

January 20, 2019 at 11:17 pm CT

This is a Super Moon, so named because it is occurs at the time when the Moon is at its closest point to the Earth, otherwise known as the epigee.

There is also a complete lunar eclipse with this Full Moon, that will be visible across most of the US.  Check out this link for the best views:  https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2019-january-21

This Moon has many names.  It is called a Blood Moon because it will turn a rusty red color during the eclipse.  It is also called the Wolf Moon because the first Full Moon of the year is named after howling wolves.  Check this out for more:  https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/moon/wolf.html and https://www.space.com/42830-supermoon-blood-moon-total-lunar-eclipse-2019.html

This Full Moon comes on the same day that the Sun moves into the sign of Aquarius (at 2:59 am CT on January 20th.)

Enjoy the Lunar Eclipse!

Spring and Full Moon in Libra 3/20/2019

It is the first day of Spring, with the Sun’s entry into the sign of Aries! It officially begins at 4:58 pm CDT on March 20, 2019.

There is also a Full Moon at 8:43 pm CDT on the first day of Spring.  The Full Moon is in Libra, which is concerned with balance, fairness, romance, peace and harmony, among other things.

It is said that in the Spring a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of LOVE.  Could this be a direct result of the Full Moon in Libra at the beginning of Spring?  Libra yearns for love and feels comfortable in relationship with others.  If you are looking for love, I sincerely hope that Cupid’s arrow finds its way to your heart!

My wish for you is that you find enjoyment in the rising temperatures that come with Spring, the rain that nourishes the Earth and the joy that comes with increasing sunshine and the budding of the flowers and trees.

Uranus in Taurus, March 6, 2019

Uranus made its final entry into Taurus today at 2:27 am CT, where it will stay for the next seven years, until 2026.  Uranus is a slow-moving planet, taking approximately 84 years to make a complete cycle through all 12 signs of the Zodiac.  Compare that to the cycle of Pluto, which can take up to 31 years to move through a sign or 248 years to complete a single trip around the Zodiac.

Keywords for Uranus include rebellion, individuality, excitement, change, chaos, unexpected, humanity, unpredictable.  Read those words and feel the meaning.  What do you think of when you hear the word “chaos”?

Keywords for Taurus are security, reliable, calm, sensual, enduring, stubborn, materialistic, inflexible.  Get a good feeling for those words.  How do you react to the word “sensual”?

Put the keywords together and you might get a feel for some possible outcomes.  Taurus, wanting security above all, would not seem comfortable with chaos.  Uranus shakes things up – it doesn’t wait for the dust to settle.  Taurus needs to know that all will turn out well before it agrees to changes.

Uranus was last in Taurus in the 1930s and 1940s.  It brought us FDR’s New Deal.  Today, we have AOC’s Green New Deal just being proposed.  Will it come to pass?  Time will tell.

If you would like insight into how this may affect you personally, contact me (marsha.massino@gmail.com) for a reading of your natal chart.

New Moon in Pisces, March 6, 2019

New Moon in Pisces at 10:04 am CT on March 6, 2019!  The Moon and Sun are joined by Neptune at the New Moon.  Neptune is the planetary ruler of Pisces, making this an especially potent time.

Neptune can bring confusion, inspiration, spirituality, and sensitivity.  Hurt feelings, as we see expressed in the picture above of the boy hiding his face in his arms, are possible when your emotions are raw and you take to heart whatever is said to you.

I ask that you be kind to others.  Think before speaking.  Offer words of encouragement to those you see struggling, whether it be emotional, financial or physical struggles.  Support is so incredibly important when feelings are hurt.

Mercury Retrograde – March 2019

Mercury stations Retrograde at 12:19 pm CT on March 5, 2019.  She will station direct again on Thursday, March 28th at 7:59 am CT.  Mercury appears to retrograde a few times a year.

I caution you not to panic.  There is no reason to fear that everything in your world will collapse in ruin.

When Mercury retrogrades simply remember to REcheck and verify your plans to avoid any confusion or mix up in details.

The planet Mercury rules transportation, communication and electronics.  These are the areas of life that may be affected.

Check your chart (or check with an astrologer if you’re not sure) to determine how to better prepare yourself for this current Mercury retrograde cycle.

Full Moon in Virgo

At 9:53 a.m. CST on February 19th, there will be a Full Moon at 0 Virgo.

Look for planets or angles in your chart at 0 Virgo to see if you will be impacted by this Full Moon.  If you don’t have a copy of your chart, you can ask an astrologer, or go to astro.com and input your information to see your chart.

Virgo is known for being of service to others, as well as being detailed and analytical.  Perfectionistic tendencies can be a side effect.  But take care not to overextend and reach into martyrdom, for that is taking it too far.  The downside of perfection is that it can paralyze one with the fear of failure.

I relate to this, having my Mercury at 0 Virgo.  I’m prone to being a perfectionist.  I was raised by a perfectionist!

Oftentimes, I race ahead to say what’s on my mind, and then realize I’ve opened my mouth before I engaged my brain.  I have regretted saying exactly what was on my mind, but only after I thought about it.  Maybe it needed to be said after all?  I try to dismiss the doubt.

I’m not a prisoner to Mercury in Virgo.  I’ve lived long enough to realize that I should pause to think before speaking, however…there are other factors at work.

I invite you to think about the Full Moon in Virgo and what it might mean to you.  Will you think about your health and whether to start eating more nutritious food?  Or, will you start a new gym membership to get ready for the summer that will be here before long?  Perhaps you can volunteer at a hospital.

If you’d like to know more about your own horoscope, contact me for a consultation.  I’d love to be of service to you!  Email me at:

New Moon in Aquarius Feb 4, 2019

New Moon in Aquarius on February 4th at 3:04 pm CST.  Uranus rules Aquarius and Uranus is currently in hard aspect to Mars.  Direct your energy wisely as sudden actions could lead to being reckless and experiencing accidents.  I had such an accident myself today while parking to meet a friend for lunch.  It was minor with no dents – cosmetic damage that I could wipe away with my finger.  However, I left a note behind with my information.

It’s amazing how many people will ding your car and drive off without letting you know. I heard back from the other party, who expressed gratitude for me leaving a note.  The servers in the restaurant were grateful to me as well.  They told me that their cars get hit while they are at work and no one leaves a note.  I couldn’t not!  I certainly wouldn’t appreciate if someone had done that to me.

I hope you are more cautious than I was today.  Enjoy the day, and set your intentions for the month ahead!
