Full Moon in Leo

This is a Super Moon, so named because it is occurs at the time when the Moon is at its closest point to the Earth, otherwise known as the epigee.

This Moon has many names. It is called a Blood Moon because it will turn a rusty red color during the eclipse. It is also called the Wolf Moon because the first Full Moon of the year is named after howling wolves. This Full Moon comes on the same day that the Sun moves into the sign of Aquarius (at 2:59 am CT on January 20th.)
